📹 DashCaptain Privacy Policy

Effective: July 10, 2026 · Last updated: September 2, 2026

DashCaptain (operated by Dalin Soft, the "App") takes your privacy seriously and complies with applicable data protection laws, including Korea's Personal Information Protection Act. This policy explains what information the App processes and how.

Summary
1) The App has no sign-up or login, and does not collect or transmit your recordings or app settings to any operator server.
2) Video and audio captured by the camera and microphone are stored only on your device.
3) To keep the Service free, it uses Google AdMob ads, and some device and usage information may be processed by Google and its advertising partners while ads are delivered.
4) In the European Economic Area, the UK, and other applicable regions, an ad privacy choices screen is shown, and you can change your choice at any time in the app.
5) A clip is only transferred to an external app you choose when you actively initiate the sharing feature yourself.

Recordings may contain personal information such as the faces or voices of users or third parties, license plates, or surrounding footage that could suggest a location. The App does not identify or analyze this information, and recording and storage are the user's responsibility.

The app operator does not store the advertising-related information above on a separate operator server. The actual scope of processing by the ad SDK may vary depending on your device settings, ad settings, region, and Google's policies.

2. Permissions and their purpose

Permission / featurePurpose
CameraRecording video
MicrophoneRecording ambient sound together with the video
NotificationsShowing foreground service status such as recording or waiting to charge
Foreground serviceKeeping recording active while the screen is off or another app is in use
Ignore battery optimizationsPreventing interruptions to recording caused by power saving

The App does not request location, contacts, phone, SMS, or full photo library permissions.

3. Purpose of processing

The App processes on-device information to record video and audio, store/play/manage clips, keep your settings, and provide the external sharing feature you request. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may process advertising-related information to show ads that keep the Service free, measure ad performance and analytics, and prevent fraud and maintain security.

4. Retention and deletion

5. Sharing with third parties and external SDKs

The app operator does not provide your recordings or app settings to any third party at its own discretion. However, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect advertising-related information while delivering ads and share it with Google and its advertising partners. Also, when a user actively initiates clip sharing, the selected file is transferred to the external app the user chose through Android's sharing feature, after which that external service's terms and privacy policy apply.

6. External services and processing abroad

RecipientItems processedPurposeCountry / timing / methodRetention
Google LLC and Google's advertising partners IP address, device identifiers such as the advertising and app set ID, app interactions, diagnostics Ad delivery, measurement and analytics, fraud prevention and security May be transmitted over encrypted networks and processed in the United States and other countries where Google operates, when the app runs and ads are requested or shown Follows Google's privacy policy and ad data retention policy

For details on how Google processes information, see Google's Privacy Policy, Google's Ads Policy, and the Google Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure. Processing abroad by an external sharing app you choose follows that service's own policy.

7. Your rights and how to exercise them

Because the app operator does not keep your recordings or app settings on a server, there is no server-side data for the operator to look up, correct, or delete on your behalf. You can manage information on your device using the app's own deletion features, by clearing app data in your device settings, or by uninstalling the app. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android device settings, and manage personalized ads in Google's Ad Settings. Users in the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland, and other applicable regions can choose whether to consent on the ad privacy choices screen shown the first time they run the app, and can review or change that choice at any time afterward in Ad privacy settings inside the app. Note that even if you restrict personalized ads, some information needed for ad delivery, measurement, and security may still be processed.

8. Security measures

9. Children's privacy

The App does not verify users' ages or intentionally collect personal information from children. Guardians should make sure that children using the recording or audio features comply with applicable law and the rights of others.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date and the content of the change will be announced in the app or on the official web page at least 7 days before it takes effect. If a change materially affects users' rights, it will be announced in the manner and within the period required by applicable law.
